Chances are there wasn't collaboration, communication, and checkpoints, there wasn't a process agreed upon or specified with the granularity required. It's content strategy gone awry right from the start. Forswearing the use of Lorem Ipsum wouldn't have helped, won't help now. It's like saying you're a bad designer, use less bold text, don't use italics in every other paragraph. True enough, but that's not all that it takes to get things back on track.
The villagers are out there with a vengeance to get that Frankenstein
You made all the required mock ups for commissioned layout, got all the approvals, built a tested code base or had them built, you decided on a content management system, got a license for it or adapted:
- The toppings you may chose for that TV dinner pizza slice when you forgot to shop for foods, the paint you may slap on your face to impress the new boss is your business.
- But what about your daily bread? Design comps, layouts, wireframes—will your clients accept that you go about things the facile way?
- Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever.
- Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
- Websites in professional use templating systems.
- Commercial publishing platforms and content management systems ensure that you can show different text, different data using the same template.
- When it's about controlling hundreds of articles, product pages for web shops, or user profiles in social networks, all of them potentially with different sizes, formats, rules for differing elements things can break, designs agreed upon can have unintended consequences and look much different than expected.
This is quite a problem to solve, but just doing without greeking text won't fix it. Using test items of real content and data in designs will help, but there's no guarantee that every oddity will be found and corrected. Do you want to be sure? Then a prototype or beta site with real content published from the real CMS is needed—but you’re not going that far until you go through an initial design cycle.

Hahaha made a sculpture of my hand flipping the bird for a coworker of mine and had it delivered to her mail box and she opened it haha she thought it was great 10/10 for a laugh and detail of my hand as it even got the scratches on my arm from my cats haha
Pretty easy to use and simple steps to follow

Not enough mixture for the depth of the bucket, it then dried within 15 seconds and we didn’t manage to get a single cast. Ended up paying £50+ to bin the entire bucket..

Bought this for my mom and I to do on a girls weekend trip. We live far away but are best friends! Several things went wrong but alas, it turned out beautifully!!!!
Some tips: use extra drop cloths for your work stations; watch the video; shorthand the directions so you aren’t overwhelmed; use all disposable wisks and bowls; don’t be afraid to really get into the crevices and clean it up; have fun!
We read the directions three times each, watched the video, and also wrote down our own shorthand directions. We didn’t have an extra person to help us, so having the short hand directions with us was helpful so we didn’t have to keep watching the video or reading the directions. It really isn’t difficult; the directions are just extremely thorough which can seem intimidating!
We were staying at an Airbnb so we used distilled water which we kept in the fridge until we were ready.
We had the idea of holding a heart-shaped stone together, but ended up deciding the stone was too small to be visible in the final sculpture. So we decided to put the heart shaped stone in the actual plaster as we poured. We waited until the mold was filled about 2/3 with plaster and made sure it was startkng to firm before adding the crystal. We didn’t want it sinking to the bottom!
Several things went wrong in the process, all preventable, all user error. We laid down extra plastic dollar store tablecloths to protect the ground. Boy, are we lucky we did that! While swirling the plaster around in our mold, I accidentally let the mold slide right out of the bucket!!!!!! The directions literally warns you this can happen, hahaha. HOWEVER!! Thankfully, after bouncing three feet along the ground, the mold was perfectly fine!!!!!
But then! As I diligently poured the plaster, my foot accidentally kicked over the bucket containing our wet plaster! Thankfully we were able to salvage it by picking up the tarp it spilled on, and pouring it back into the bucket.
Once the plaster was set and ready to be cleaned up, there were quite a few air bubbles. I’m sure this is also avoidable, but I really enjoyed deep cleaning the sculpture and making it perfect. I also had a bit longer nails that didn’t cast well. I didn’t think it would be an issue, but apparently it was, haha. My rings casted beautifully though and although I would’ve loved for my mom to wear her wedding rings, she was worried about them not casting well.
We made some mistakes along the way, but overall enjoyed the process and I would definitely do this again!!!!! Plus, one day if the sculpture were to break, we’ll still have the heart shaped crystal that’s inside.

Was a fun activity and was pretty simple once you follow the instructions. Have lots of items in the kit which was convenient Came out super nice and detailed but the statue itself is really chalky so it may be messy and easy to break. You might need a varnish to finish.

Easy directions to follow. Turned out great! I’ve had a hard time perfecting how to get all the fingertips to fill in, but overall it is pretty easy to make!

The powder delivered for phase 1 to make the mould did not match the quantity defined in the details. I received 2 bags of 435g each rather than a total of 1500g. Moreover, when I mixed it with distilled water at 24deg the mix dried out in about 1min and never changed colour as indicated. Not worth the money.

Absolutely loved this hand casting kit! The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the details captured in the cast are incredible. It picked up even the fine lines and small features of our hands making it such a beautiful and meaningful keepsake. The process was fun and the final result looks amazing. Highly recommend for couples or families wanting something special to cherish. My picture is before we went in and cleaned it up but the details it captured are amazing!

I’ve actually bought this kit twice, once for my son’s 6th birthday party and again for his 11th and it was a hit both times. The instructions are clear, the process is easy once you lay everything out, and kids love the “science experiment” of dipping their hands and then seeing the mold appear.
Both times we ended up with detailed plaster casts that captured every crease and fingernail. Now we have side-by-side molds of his growing hands and a keepsake we’ll treasure forever. The XL size is generous enough to fit multiple hands comfortably, and the materials set up exactly as described if you follow the timing.
This is a sup fun, memorable activity for kids and adults that results in a high-quality keepsake. My best friend has done it as an activity at the holiday’s for her whole family with their hands all together. Super sweet idea. Highly recommend for family projects or birthdays.

The hand casting kit was super easy to use. There’s enough room in the large couples size for both my large hand and wife’s average hand. It’s a little messy but cleanup was easy. The mold material sets pretty quickly but as long as you follow the instructions you’ll be fine. Just pay attention to the shades of pink described in the instructions.
We were very impressed and surprised with the amount of detail in the finished cast. It even captured our fingerprints. It’s beautiful and I know that years from now I’ll be so glad we made this. And I know many years later our kids will cherish it as well. We ordered another for our kids!

Overall the process is ok. Instead of buying the smaller pack for an infant, I bought the larger kit. It was cheaper for the amount that you receive. I was able to make 2 feet and 1 hand plus my first failed attempt at a foot. My baby is 5 weeks old at the time of molds.
I found measurements to break it all down online. For one baby foot, this is what I used. For one hand, I halved step one. Of course the amount will vary based on the container you use and the size of the foot or hand.
Step 1 – 1 lb water. 5 oz alginate
Step 2 – 1/4 cup water. 1/2 cup plaster
I definitely recommend two people. One to hold baby and one to hold leg or arm.
The hardest part is getting the plaster in all the right places, especially for toes. Although, it’s also hard to keep baby’s foot in place for step 1. Even relaxed, my baby came alive when it came to holding his foot down. I would recommend using more material for step 1 than you think you need. My baby kept pulling his foot or toes out of the mold no matter how tight I tried to hold his leg. The second foot is flat to the bottom of my container so the heel is flat, but I’m ok with that.
I’m most saddened about the toes not being perfect. It’s hard to get the plaster everywhere. I even added a little at a time and rolled a little bit of plaster inside the mold, holding the container at all angles in attempts to get it throughout. I added little by little repeating the slow roll and turn of the container. Yet I had dents/craters in both feet. The hand was perfect – no craters or dents.
And of course the plaster filled the hand mold perfectly bc we had his hand on the edge of the cup. He had a full inch of space on the other side of the solo cup, but we managed to get his hand mold against the one side. He screamed throughout the process.
You also have to worry about getting the bubbles out. I’m not sure if my 1st foot had bubbles bc of step one or two, but the foot has tiny bubbles on the top of the finished piece.
In attempts not to overly stress out my baby, I did each attempt at different days. He really did not like this process, and when step 1 started to solidify, he got more mad bc he couldn’t move.
Between hand or foot. My baby was the most mad with our attempt at getting his hand molded. I watched a ton of videos, and none of the babies reacted as violently as mine. Of course the bad instances probably didn’t cut it for a YouTube video.
Every baby is different. And even though my experience wasn’t perfect, I wish I had known about this for my first two kids. I still may do their feet even though they are 4.5 and 2 years old.

This casting kit was such a fun and meaningful activity for our anniversary! My husband and I used it to create a mold of our hands, and the result was absolutely beautiful — so detailed and sentimental. As a personal touch, we’re also planning to add our cat’s paw print using non-toxic paint, which makes it even more special for us. The instructions were clear, the process was easy, and it turned into a memory we’ll always treasure. Highly recommended for couples or families looking for a unique way to celebrate a special moment.

Came out absolutely perfect! followed the directions and it was as simple as that. There are a lot of videos online to watch if you are nervous to try it. We had an air bubble under one of my husbands fingers but was able to us the reserved casting material to fill in the bubble. I absolutely love it!
